The National Passport Information Center (NPIC) provides processing status updates for recent passport applications.
Check your passport application status:
- Online: Passport application status system (allow at least a week before tracking the application; less if you requested expedited service)
- E-mail: NPIC@state.gov (NPIC answers most e-mail inquiries within 24 hours)
- United States: Call 1.877.4USA.PPT (487.2778); for TTY dial 1.888.874.7793
- Abroad: Contact a U.S. Embassy or Consulate
Status of No-Fee Passport Applications
Contact your designated travel office to obtain the status of an official, diplomatic, or other no-fee passport application.
